When my daughter left home to pursue her path in life I decided to do likewise and enrolled into a 2 year fulltime Art and Drama course in Limerick where drawing and painting were 2 of the modules. Upon completion I continued from there to get a Degree in 'Art and Design' at GMIT / Galway
Immersion in the Landscape of the west of Ireland has moulded my perception and found their way into my work.
I like to paint most days; I find Inspiration on daily walks and reflecting on places I have been, letting my memory guide me intuitively through a painting, inspired by an inner and outer Landscape, moods in Landscape reflecting moods in us. Interpreting and abstracting the Landscape, expressing atmosphere through colour and applying texture to create depth and movement.
Paint applied directly, often with the use of a pallet knife, giving a paining a spontaneous energy.
Some of my Paintings are currently on display in the Russell Gallery in Co. Clare.
Paintings of mine are also to be found in Caffreys Gallery in Co. Mayo.
